One of their earliest comic book endeavors, <em>Mickey Mouse Magazine<\/em>, featured a classic Christmas theme on its 27th issue in December, 1937.&nbsp; Later, on its flagship title, <em>Walt Disney&#8217;s Comics and Stories<\/em>, many Christmas themed covers appeared, the first being on issue #4 (January 1941).&nbsp; There was also a giveaway copy of this issue published.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/mmm27.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"548\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1960\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/mmm27.jpg\" srcset=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/mmm27.jpg 400w, http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/mmm27-109x150.jpg 109w, http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/mmm27-219x300.jpg 219w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/wdcs4-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"550\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1961\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/wdcs4-1.jpg\" srcset=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/wdcs4-1.jpg 400w, http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/wdcs4-1-109x150.jpg 109w, http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/wdcs4-1-218x300.jpg 218w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of giveaways, there were several Disney Christmas comic book giveaways during the Golden Age of Comics.&nbsp; Starting in 1943 and running for 8 issues, Disney and the Firestone Company teamed up to publish a promotional Christmas title, <em>Donald and Mickey<\/em>.&nbsp; There were other Disney Christmas giveaway titles featuring Donald and Mickey and the rest of the Disney cast of characters, some being reprints of material previously featured in <em>Walt Disney&#8217;s Comics &amp; Stories<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/firestonegiveaway1943.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"567\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1959\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/firestonegiveaway1943.jpg\" srcset=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/firestonegiveaway1943.jpg 400w, http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/firestonegiveaway1943-106x150.jpg 106w, http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/firestonegiveaway1943-212x300.jpg 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the best known and collectible Disney Christmas comics was the Dell title, <em>Christmas Parade<\/em>.&nbsp; <em>Christmas Parade<\/em> #1 was published in 1949 and was the very first of the popular Dell Giant series (not limited to Disney comics).&nbsp; <em>Christmas Parade<\/em> ran annually from 1949 until 1958.&nbsp; Another popular Dell Giant with a Disney Christmas theme was <em>Christmas in Disneyland<\/em>, the first issue of this title being published in 1957.&nbsp; Many of the Disney Dell Giants featured work by the great Carl Barks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/christmasparade1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"567\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1962\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/christmasparade1.jpg\" srcset=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/christmasparade1.jpg 400w, http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/christmasparade1-106x150.jpg 106w, http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/christmasparade1-212x300.jpg 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Even Barks&#8217;
