Greatest Golden Age Patriotic Cover"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Considering that the height of the Golden Age took place simultaneously with America&#8217;s entrance into World War II, there are dozens of patriotic comic book covers from this era.\u00a0 While I have my favorites, there is only one cover that I always think of as the greatest of these patriotic masterpieces.\u00a0 Hands down, the cover to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Superman<\/em> #14<\/span> (January-February 1942) stands out above all of the rest of the patriotic covers of the time.\u00a0 With his creation of this cover, Fred Ray simply hit a home run in capturing the essence of the patriotic ferver of the United States in the early 1940&#8217;s.\u00a0 Ray created many of the <em>Superman<\/em> covers from this era, and went on the create a hit of his own with <a href=\"http:\/\/goldenagecomics.org\/wordpress\/2006\/01\/03\/golden-age-of-comic-books-january-3-2006-30\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tomahawk<\/a>, who first debuted in <em>Star Spangled Comics<\/em> #69 (June 1947).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_938\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a
