About Bill

Bill Jourdain has been reading comic books since he was 6 years old, and began collecting comics as a hobby over 40 years ago. He has focused on collecting Golden Age Batman related comics, but also has a large collection of other Golden Age and Silver Age titles.

In 1996, Bill established the Golden Age Batman website in an effort to provide a web-based resource for the Golden Age Batman and related characters. In 2005, Bill became fascinated with a new internet based “talk show” called podcasting, and in June of that year recorded the first episode of the Golden Age of Comic Books Podcast. In sixty-five episodes, Bill has explored many of the characters and creators of the Golden Age.  In addition to his internet based comic book pursuits, Bill has had an article published in Alter-Ego Magazine #27 (August, 2003) and was featured in an issue of Dalton Magazine, seen below. Bill also wrote the “Comics Then” column for Comics Now! magazine.  Bill has been proud to be a part of the creation of  several Vintage DC Comics Calendars with Asgard Press, where he penned the introduction to the calendars and the descriptions of each of the featured monthly covers. In the past, Bill has provided support to DC Comics on Les Daniels’ Batman: The Complete History.

Bill attends many comic book conventions every year and continues to pursue his passion of collecting Golden Age Comic Books.

Bill & The Original Cover Art to Batman #11

Here’s Bill at the 2005 San Diego Comic Con holding the original cover art to Batman #11 by the great Jerry Robinson.  This piece later sold for over $200,000 at auction.  Bill didn’t own it, but at least he got to hold it!
