Golden Age of Comics – December 9, 2007 – #54

We are back with another episode of the Golden Age of Comic Books! In this episode we focus on Mary Marvel, one of the great members of the Marvel Family from Fawcett Comics. Mary was first introduced as the sister of Billy Batson a/k/a Captain Marvel in the pages of Captain Marvel Adventures #18 (December, 1942). She also appeared in the pages of Wow Comics, The Marvel Family and Mary Marvel Comics. Her very last adventure in the Golden Age was in Marvel Family #89 (January, 1954). She was away from the comics scene until revived in 1973 by DC Comics.

Finally, we discuss the Invisible Scarlet O’Neil, created by Russ Stamm in 1940.
